The education have took a lot of changes in the last two decades, changes about the students, the teachers and even the education role models for all the people involved into the education.
An obvious theme about the education we gotta take is the use of media and networking into the classroom (and all the places where you have internet), i personally prefer some mixing between the traditional education and the modern one, but let´s go ahead with the real bussiness over here: THE BLOGS.
ADVANTAGES:
SPEED
Having a blog for educational use is a very fast tool, being honest is one of the best things you can do with some free time, and if you are using time with an education blog, you are not really wasting it with slow reasearching and lots of process.
TEAMWORK:
your workteam or class group will not be together always, that's true. This one is simple: USE THE NET!. But if you are traditional teacher, please dont be angry but is always good to evolve and have some new tools for the students , that's why technology is in our lifes , no?
DISADVANTAGES:
BAD OR FALSE INFORMATION:
The Internet is full of information we can use everyday to complete the tasks we have or wasting the time we have to do those tasks , this info its uploaded by people all around the world , and that could be a problem. Every person is different when it is about the information , some people just upload junk and speculations they took about a theme or fact and on the otherside there´s prepared and polite people that upload good and solid information to the web, the tool is there , use good blogs to have good info, that´s all.
TIME WASTING:
using a blog is an useful tool when you are working with it. But is hard to move through the web without getting trapped by a music video or some curious GIF from Tumblr , the students need to have a true interest for the education and tasks they do receive from the blogs.
THE TOOL IS THERE, ITS ALL ABOUT THE USER.
There`s a little video i made:
